Notes from my March 2018 reading of Endurance by Alfred Lansing.
- pg 129 – Self confidence in leadership
- pg 278 – Confidence wanes, Shackleton realizes he has to split the team so that one group could go out for help. Because it was dangerous, and because it HAD to work, he realized he couldn’t delegate the responsibility to someone else so he leads the effort.
- pg 326 – Shackleton assigns watches to the team. He takes to first watch to show he’s part of the team and that he’s not asking folks to do something he is unwilling to do himself.
